Broadband is no longer a novelty or a luxury,
members of the parish rely on having a connection that works, whether its
for business, social contact or homework...
Following
problems experienced by members of the parish we are monitoring
broadband issues so that records of poor service/support can be logged
- and of course, referred to when litigation is necessary!
If you know of anyone experiencing
persistent Broadband problems please ask them to email the web
author so that the incident can be logged.
Here follows a list of recent episodes in
date order (most recent...)
Outage 22nd Apr - 9th May 2009
On 22nd April an unusually large number of people
reported broadband connection issues (outages.) At least 10
broadband subscribers were affected by this outage, there were probably many
more! All experienced the same difficulties getting their service
providers to resolve the following issues:
 |
Loss of broadband access, some availability on Saturday 2nd May, then loss of
signal on the following Sunday |
 |
A slow ADSL service being
reported during the early hours (circa 8:00 - 10:00am)
|
 |
Router's DSL lights either staying on
(Broadband connected) or flashing (loss of broadband signal)
|
 |
If DSL light is on sometimes the
internet light is not showing that the connection is available (e.g.
on Netgear Routers this shows as a RED or blank light - other
Routers may indicate loss of connection in a different way)
