Meet Your Councillors...                NOTICE OF CO-OPTION VACANCY

Ken Brown
Chairman

Kasani Lodge, Eckington Road, Bredon, Glos GL20 7HE

01684 772355

After a career in the police service for thirty years, always working in big cities, I wanted a change of life style; Coming to live in Bredon gave me exactly that. This was the best thing I could have done, and after finding out how much I liked it and the people, I wanted to do something for the area. I have been on the council now several years,
I am also very involved in our community care set up, I store and maintain all our equipment, which I then loan out as required. I am also the parish footpaths officer, trying to keep our local footpaths open and 'walkable'. As for a hobby that will always be my garden.

Jo's interest in the council started when the children’s play area on the playing field was being renovated. She had 2 small children at that point and was keen to be involved with the working party, which was formed to provide an updated play facility for the children of the village.
Jo lived in Bredon for 8 years and ran a business in Bredon’s Hardwick for 6 years. Although she now lives in Kemerton she still has a strong allegiance to the parish and wants to help make improvements, whilst being aware of preserving the conservation area. Gail likes Bredon very much and has lived here for 25 years. She particularly likes village life, which has not been compromised as the village has grown. Facilities in Bredon and close by are good and there are many clubs and groups for people of all ages. She is - and always will be, a village person. Gail likes the close community, the lack of noise, the fresh air, the dark night skies, the countryside walks, the village shops, the variety of architecture and of course the views. She has always thought of Bredon as having the best of everything.  It has everything that you need and yet is still a village with a village spirit. Equally, the other villages within the parish are also very special each having its own recognised unique identity. Gail really does love this area and as a councillor will always work to improve the villages of our parish but not lose them.
